Welcome to our online classroom.  You will find lots of information here about our classroom and it will be updated on a regular basis.

Austin field trip information

will be coming home this week! 

     Thank you all so much for the valuable info. you sent back on the parent survey forms.  I have looked at all of the information and have made some changes that I hope will benefit all of us during the weeks to come in the 2nd 6 weeks. 

     The students and I worked together on Friday to revise our Spelling Choice Lists.  All activities will be worth 25 points, and we will start counting the brainstorming that we do together in class on the back of the word list sheet as a 25 point activity as well.  The kids wanted the pretest on each choice list and they also really wanted to add technology!  Yeah for them!!  We are going to try to see how it goes giving a pre-test on Monday as well.  If the students get a 95 or 100 on the pre-test, that will count as 75 points of their required homework.  So, if they complete the brainstorming and the pre-test qualification, their point requirement for the contract will be complete.  I will then work with these kids on some vocabulary development in class that they could apply in their writing.  We will see how this goes and let you know what the results are!!  

     Several parents also suggested a "complete as you can" sort of homework packet, and my son is actually doing this in his 3rd grade class.  I love the flexibility myself, so we're going to send our homework pages that were coming on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this way for awhile as well.  We will send them on Monday and they will be due the following Monday so that you have plenty of time to look over these with your child!  If you want to turn these in early, that is fine as well.
