Why build a teacher website?

Most teachers, when weighing the pros and cons of building a teacher website, they will start with the question, “How will this help my students?” A classroom website is a time investment, and time is a precious commodity for any teacher. So, why should you take the time to build and maintain a classroom website?

Tips and Tricks

Content Wizard

While you can always manually control which modules are on/off, what content is published on your website, or edit content you have already created… there is an easier way. Try our Content Wizard! Found under the “Maintenance Page” menu, the content wizard is an easy and quick way to complete multiple tasks

Once you open the Content Wizard, you will be prompted to either add new content, or edit existing content. If you select Add New Content, you will first be shown a list of all our modules. Once you select a module, you will be taken to our Add Content page, where you can enter you content and publish your page. If you select to edit content, you will be first prompted to select the module that contains the document you want to edit. You will be then shown a list of all the documents you have created within the module you selected and asked how you would like to edit this particular document: publish/unpublish, edit, or delete. Simply make your selection and you will be prompted to complete your request.

It’s that easy. The content wizard will simply ask you questions and direct you to the location to get your answer.

Publish/Unpublish

Perhaps one of the most overlooked features that EZClassSites.com offers is our publish/unpublish feature. To put it simply, if a document has a status of published, it is saved and live on your website for anybody with access to view. If a document has a status of unpublished, it is still saved, but is not available to be viewed on your teacher website.

So, how can this help save you time? Imaging you teach a fall, Halloween unit each year. As fall nears you visit EZClassSites.com and add some content to your teacher website regarding this unit. But, after Halloween passes you realize that you do not need this content on your website any longer. Knowing that you will want to display this content again next year, rather than deleting it, you can simply unpublish the content. This way, the content is saved, but not viewable. Then, next year, you can simply re-publish this content for your students to use.
